Draft Assignment #1 Steps 3 & 4 - WHAT A WEEK!

What a week! Working at an accounting firm we have just been smashed with work, everyone wanting their refunds, I absolutely love work when it's busy though it gives me a chance to either sink or swim. I have been finding it so hard to balance full time work with study and I have a bad habit of getting in my own head and think I can't do this, who can juggle this much work and try and study at the same time???!!!!! And sometimes it does leads to some tears, but thankfully I have an amazing support team at work who give me so much confidence and they can joke about it too! A few of my friends at work came over to me while I was having my moment, they showed me love, support and one of my friends said welcome to break down # 1, first of many, which made me crack up laughing. Everyone has been through this and can relate to what I am feeling. It's good to have such a supportive group of friends around.

As I was starting my draft assignment I wasn't too sure what I was meant to be producing, but having the chance to look over fellow students work gave me some ideas to start. I loved putting in visual aspects in my assignment, I feel it breaks it up a bit and adds some colour too! My draft assignment is attached

, as well as my company spreadsheet for Dunelm. They company spreadsheet I had some trouble figuring out how my firm set out their changes in equity statement, but I was able to get some help from a lovely lady on the accounting group facebook page who helped me a lot, thank you Brianna! I love working with excel, it makes my life so much easier, the formulas are just an awesome invention. Work smarter not harder!!

Please give me some feedback I would really appreciate it, I am only half way through but! XO

Hi Billie, You have done a great job. You have a solid understanding of the background of your company and I like how you have included diagrams as it really breaks it up. Your spreadsheet looks great.

Hi Billie 

I enjoyed reading the background information on your firm and I like how you have simplified it. Unlike my introduction, it is quite long, however, my firm was founded in 1874.

I like the picture beneath the introduction “Our locations”. I thought this was a great add-in and gave me a visual insight into your firm.

I had a look at your firm’s annual report, and I can see that it is very well put together. The colour coding for each section is great and makes the overall document neat. My firms’ annual reports contain around 40 separate documents, there is no way I would try and count the pages.

I enjoyed how you can relate to…

Your spreadsheet looks really good - your company's revenue is much higher than mine ($914,840 in 2019)!
